Four friends – Rajaraman, KPS, Krish, and Thiyagu – started Chargebee in a room in Rajaraman’s apartment in Chennai, India in June 2011. The goal was to build a company together. Today, they are a global team of truth-seeking problem-solvers who are fearless idealists who genuinely believe that they can change the world.

Chargebee is a subscription and recurring billing management solutions company that helps businesses manage their billing, payments, subscriptions and invoicing services efficiently. Founded in 2011, Chargebee offers a SaaS solution that simplifies billing complexities and operations for subscription businesses, while delivering seamless customer experiences.

In a world where everyone from Apple to Majestic Wines are focusing on subscription models to secure recurring revenue streams Chargebee is making quite a name for itself. The SaaS platform helps businesses manage and grow their revenue by automating subscriptions, billing, invoicing, payments and revenue recognition processes and it provides key reports, metrics and insights into their subscription business.

The emerging leader in SaaS subscription management and recurring billing solution is currently used by thousands of customers across 53 countries. It also announced expansion of its international operations with the opening of its European Headquarters in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Chargebee also recently raised $18 Million in Series-C led by Insight Venture Partners. But I wanted to find out more about the inspirational story of how four friends would go on to help businesses leverage the subscription economy.
